Ann Getman, APR
Ann Getman’s mission is to help organizations build relationships and reputation through effective communication with its stakeholders, to keep them informed and engaged. Trained as a sociologist, Ann is interested in how two-way communications can bridge an organization’s mission, interests and needs with those of its constituent stakeholders.
Her core expertise is in stakeholder research through interviews, focus groups, surveys, moderated summit meetings, and communications audits, to explore what stakeholders need, want and expect. With that information, she helps shape clients’ positioning, messages and outreach strategies to connect with stakeholders in ways that are more relevant and lasting, and measure the impact of programs.
Ann provides senior-level counsel and the resources to deliver results for small projects, ongoing programs, or national campaigns. Her clients have included the Peace Corps, National Association of Realtors ®, World Resources Institute, Lockheed Martin, Magnificent Publications, and Maine Medical Center, among others.
Ann has taught Communications Strategy, Public Relations Research, Strategic Marketing for NonProfit Organizations, and Principles of Public Relations at Regis and Emerson Colleges and at Northeastern University, all in the Boston area. She is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) and has been a leader in the Public Relations Society of America Boston Chapter for 25 years.
